About Us

At Cincinnati Hometown Heating and Cooling, we specialize in keeping our Hometown neighbors comfortable. Our customers are not looked upon as a number to a goal but as a family in need of options.

That means:

  1. From the moment you call you will talk to someone from the Hometown area.
  2. You will be given a reasonable time frame and date service will be performed.
  3. The technician will call you on his way to your home, or if wanted we will call your cell ahead so you can meet us at your home.
  4. The technician will respect your home by wearing shoe covers and using drop cloths.
  5. Upon arrival the technician will consult with you about any issues you are currently having and any that you have had in the past.
  6. Then he will perform a complete diagnostic of your system.
  7. He will provide your up-front pricing options to complete all repairs or just the repairs that you want done at the time.
  8. You will be offered all discounts available to have the repairs done at the lowest cost.
  9. It is at your option of what you want to have done or not done.
  10. Once the decision is made the technician will perform the work that was authorized and let you know if anything was found during the work that was authorized.
  11. You will then receive a invoice that lists what was performed and what payment you made to the invoice.
  12. All repairs are warrantied for at least on year.

Cincinnati Hometown will offer the highest quality service from the most knowledgeable personnel available in the industry today. We offer a range of repair and installation options from numerous manufacturers' products. We service all major brands of furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, etc.

Jay Young

Jay Young has been servicing heaters and coolers in the Cincinnati area for over 18 years. He is Nate certified and has been to over 300 Carrier, Bryant, Tempstar training and/or certification courses. He completed Great Oaks HVACR courses and became licensed to handle refrigerant in 1996. Since then, he has worked in residential new construction service and repair heating and cooling for 11 years and as Lead Service technician for 7 years at a local family-based residential heating and cooling company. He was the trainer of new technicians for 6 of the first 11 years and was known as the go-to-guy for repair advice. To this day, he is still contacted for advice from technicians from around the nation that he trained. During the last 7 years, he developed quality checks and measures through a Quality Control Inspection Program on all new installs to maintain highest quality and operations.

Jay is also deeply devoted to his family and is always there for them whenever they need any kind of help.

He is passionate about his work and loves to serve his customers with Quality and Integrity. Jay was blessed to find more than a job from a local family contractor. However, after seeing the quality and value of service repeatedly decline while the prices increased, Jay formed Cincinnati Hometown Heating and Cooling to serve the Cincinnati area with a small business approach with hometown values. Unlike non-local big business conglomerates, Jay prefers to emphasize high quality and concern for customers. He asks that you please support local small businesses.

Erin Shumard began working in Heating and Cooling in 2000. He has completed RETS Tech HVACR courses and became licensed to handle refrigerant in 2000. He has also completed Carrier, Bryant, Tempstar Training and Certifications. Erin worked in residential new construction service and repair heating and cooling for 7 years and in commercial service and repair heating and cooling for another 7 years. Erin loves a challenge and enjoys repairing equipment for which others cannot figure out the solution. He believes in taking the time needed to explain the advances of new equipment and operations of current equipment to customers.

Erin enjoys meeting new people of all cultures and ages in his line of work. He believes it breaks up the monotony of everyday life. Like Jay, he is dedicated to his family. As a single father, he is involved in many sports activities such as being an assistant baseball coach. Every day spent with his kids fills his life with joy and happiness.

Erin and Jay met over 12 years ago when they worked for the same company. Together, they formed Cincinnati Hometown Heating and Cooling as they saw that they shared common hometown values and Christian ethics that were needed in a Cincinnati heating and cooling company.
